Product Overview

Promax ER70S-2 Mild Steel Tig Rod

ER70S-2 is a triple deoxidized (aluminium, titanium, zirconium) tig filler wire, that is suitable for welding mild steels that are rusty or dirty. Suitable for chromoly tube, structural steel, carbon steel, pipe, fittings, and castings. The less fluid weld pool makes it easier to control when welding out of position, making it ideal for all position welding of small diameter pipe.

ER 70S-2 is a versatile wire used for many mild steel applications, including joining chromoly to itself, or to other mild steel components. 70S-2 is the preferred filler wire for welding chromoly tubing, because of its ease of use. However, we recommend a dedicated 4130 Chromoly filler wire if you’re heat treating the welded joint afterwards or needing the highest possible strength joints.
