S-312.16 Hyundai Stainless Arc ElectrodesAWS A5.4 / ASME SFA5.4 E312-16
Type: Rutile
ApplicationsS-312.16 Stainless Arc Electrodes
Chemical composition of the all-weld metal is 29%Cr-9%Ni. Due to the austenite structures, high ferrite contents.
S-312.16 has excellent crack resistance & is an ideal buffer against outer stress. Also used as an underlay before hard-facing is applied.
Characteristics of UsageBond welding of dissimilar metals such as stainless steel, carbon steel, and low alloy steel.
Welding of stainless clad steel.
Under laying of the build-up welding of high alloyed tool steel, or as a buffer layer before hardfacing is applied.
Notes on UsageUsed on AC or DC+ Current.
Preheat the base metal at over 200 Degrees Celsius to prevent cracking in welding of high alloyed
steel, having good hardenability such as tool steel.
Keep the current as low as possible and arc length as short as possible.
Dry the electrodes at 350 Degrees Celsius for 60 minutes before use.
